I rebuilt it with modern components & improved the SN by 5db, thus beating any C22. The amp is of my own design, -just a solid , overbuilt push-pull class AB EL34 circuit. These albums by the Southland Stingers inspired me, as a callow lad of 10 yrs old in the 70's, to take-up ragtime piano I learned about a dozen my best being Maple Leaf Rag, and some of which were here. This delightful LP features pianist Ralph Grierson with the Southland Stingers, a 12-piece group consisting of flutepiccolo, clarinet, two trumpets, a trombone, tuba, a string quartet, bassist Chuck Domanico and drummer Shelly Manne. The George Sponhaltz arrangements are respectful and reasonably colorful, bringing to life Elite Syncopations, Heliotrope Bouquet, Something Doing and seven other Joplin rags. Scott Joplin c. 1868 April 1, 1917 was an American composer and pianist. Joplin achieved fame for his ragtime compositions and was dubbed the King of Ragtime. During his brief career, he wrote over 100 original ragtime pieces, one ragtime ballet, and two operas.
